Churchill Center & School for Learning Disabilities offers an opportunity for high potential children with learning disabilities to develop to their full potential by providing individual and small group instruction in an accepting environment. The goal of the school is to develop the academic skills and self confidence of its students to a level where their disabilities no longer limit their ability to learn in a traditional school environment. The school was named a School of Excellence by the U.S. Department of Education for a second time in 2001.

Summer School
This six week remedial session helps children with specific learning disabilities develop to their full academic potential by providing individual and small group instruction. In addition to a daily 1:1 tutorial, an individualized curriculum is offered to each child, ages 6 – 15, in the areas of language arts, math, auditory-visual training and motor skills.
Ready, Set…Read!
This course is designed for kindergarten and first grade students who are not reading with ease. The class is based on current reading research. Instruction will include phonemic awareness and listening skills. Manuscript handwriting practice will be incorporated into each daily lesson. Students who attend this course will learn how to read and spell one-syllable words. Techniques that differ from traditional reading instruction will be utilized.
