  • Exceptional beginnings for students from 18 months set the stage for incredible results at Chesterfield Day School.
Chesterfield Day School serves children beginning with toddlers from 18 months of age through grade 6. Chesterfield Day School is best known for "exceptional beginnings" and "incredible results." Students are routinely recognized for their academic preparedness, their strength of character, and their demonstration of stewardship in a broader world. Chesterfield Day School is known as a diverse community (19% speak a second language in the home) with high levels of parent involvement within the classroom and in the school. The unique personalized education uses an extremely low student:teacher ratio, beginning with Montessori practices in early grades, and transitioning to traditional teaching methods utilizing the world’s best practices as children grow.

The flexible, professional approach to recognizing each child’s strengths can accommodate rolling admissions throughout the year. Specialist teachers include physical education, Spanish, art, music/band, technology, and library science. The school traces its beginnings as the first Montessori school in the greater St. Louis region, and it continues as the home of the only accrediting agency for the American Montessori Society in the region.
